Advertising veteran Michael Weaver has been appointed senior vice president of strategic planning at the Anderson Communications Group.

Most recently, Weaver served as vice president and account director at Deutsch in New York.

He joins the Charlotte, N.C.-based agency after stints at Bozell, Campbell Mithun Esty, Backer Spielvogel Bates and J. Walter Thompson, all in New York.

“We are pleased to recruit someone whose expertise and stature are easily recognizable,” said chief executive officer David Anderson.

Weaver’s brand experience includes DaimlerChrysler’s Jeep division, Phillips Petroleum, Taco Bell, Thrifty Car Rental, Miller Brewing and STP.
