W&B Goes to Bat for Virginia

ATLANTA The Virginia Baseball Stadium Authority has chosen White & Baldacci to promote its quest for a major league team, the agency said.

The Reston, Va.-based client represents the state in its bid to persuade the Major League Baseball Relocation Committee to choose Northern Virginia as the new home of the Montreal Expos.

W&B, also in Reston, pitched against six undisclosed agencies for the two-month assignment, valued at $200,000.

Presentations to MLBRC are Jan. 29 in New York. Other cities bidding for the Expos are Washington, D.C.; Charlotte, N.C.; and Portland, Ore.

Agency evp Carrie Edwards credited W&B president Steve Baldacci, who joined the shop late last year from the Washington Redskins, with the win.
