Rich Wakefield has resigned as creative director of MRA.

Wakefield’s exit from the Atlanta agency is precisely timed, sources said, to the arrival of his former advertising partner, Jim Noble, as executive creative director of BBDO South here.

Over the years, the two worked together at Hawley Martin in Richmond, Va.; Fahlgren here; BBDO in Vancouver, Canada; and Goldberg Moser O’Neill in San Francisco.

“Jim went full circle,” said Wakefield. “I followed him. And I’d love to work for him again.”

Noble has referred to Wakefield as “his best friend for years.”
