After notable unrest over the past decade, Heineken’s U.S. business has decided on its next stop—selecting Wieden + Kennedy’s New York offices to handle its creative.
The account, which includes both traditional and digital work for Heineken and Heineken Light, is worth an estimated $5 million in revenue. It’s W + K N.Y’s first win since Young & Rubicam New York co-executive creative directors Scott Vitrone and Ian Reichenthal—alumni of the Portland arm—joined up as executive creative directors.
The agency’s Portland headquarters used to handle the work but lost it to Euro RSCG in July 2009. Publicis, which served as Heineken’s agency from 2003 to 2007, was also in the running in the latest pitch.
