ARCADIA, CALIF. – Vons Pavilions’ $5-million account will soon leave Saatchi & Saatchi/Pacific in Torrance, Calif., for DDB Needham L.A.
‘We are hoping to end the relationship with Saatchi & Saatchi within two months, said Vons spokesperson Julie Reynolds, calling the move a streamlining.
Officials from both agencies declined comment. DDB Needham handles the Vons chain of supermarkets, which spent about $20 million on advertising through the first six months of this year.
The move follows sales slides throughout Vons 350-store chain of 8-10% in the first three quarters of the year, according to analysts’ reports.
The loss of Pavilions leaves S&S with several small accounts and $300 million in billings from Toyota Motor Sales.
