Emo-pop band Fall Out Boy has been one of the most popular groups of its generation and genre — in part, due to its tapping of social media to connect with (and gain insight on) their fan base.

Their leader, bassist/lyricist Pete Wentz, recently spoke with Adweek’s Barbara Lippert at the Social Media Strategies conference in New York. FOB is on hiatus. Wentz now plays bass in a new band, Black Cards.
