Veritas Looks for New PR Practice

BOSTON Veritas Software is reviewing its public relations account, the client confirmed.

The Mountain View, Calif., data storage company is looking at several large and midsize firms with “experience working with the top technology companies,” according to Marlena Fernandez, Veritas’ vice president of corporate communications. Veritas had worked with Applied Communications in San Francisco for the past two-and-a-half years.

WPP’s Hill & Knowlton and Next Fifteen Communications Group’s Bite Communications, Veritas’ public relations firms in Canada and the U.K., respectively, are involved in the review, Fernandez said, along with WPP’s Cohn & Wolfe, Omnicom’s Fleishman-Hillard and independents Eastwick Communications, Edelman Public Relations and PR.com.

A final decision is expected in early September, Fernandez said. Billings are undisclosed.

Veritas is expected to conclude a review for its $20 million media account this month.
