Venables, Bell Names Jones a Partner

SAN FRANCISCO Venables, Bell & Partners has made planning director Lucy Farey-Jones the fourth partner in the business, the management team said.

Jones became a partner this month at the San Francisco shop, said Paul Venables, agency founder and co-creative director.

Jones, 33, came to Venables in 2001 from BBDO, where she was the head of planning for the West Coast offices in Los Angeles and San Francisco.

A London native, Jones began her career at BMP DDB after earning a degree in English literature from Oxford University. She stayed at DDB in London for eight years and worked on Volkswagen there, among other brands, helping launch four models in four years. The work won three gold Lions at Cannes, and best of show and five gold Pencils at The One Show.

Since joining VBP, Jones has worked closely with the founding partners, who said she was instrumental in new business wins such as Barclays, Robert Mondavi, Animal Planet, Press Play, Napster and Siebel.
