Two advertising students of the fledgling Virginia Commonwealth University ad school program in Richmond walked away with gold medals from the 1997 Los Angeles Creative Show last week.
Christy Chan and Matt Stein, in their second year in the advertising program, also garnered best-of-show honors on the other coast. The duo created a series of three advertisements for the group Cease Fire, which works to eliminate violence resulting from
hand gun use.
In addition to their awards hardware and recognition, Chan and Stein will split a $1,500 prize.
The advertising school at Virginia Commonwealth University has been in operation for slightly less than 18 months.
