Van Kampen American Capital, dropped for a rival by Foote, Cone & Belding here a year ago, has awarded its estimated $15 million account to DDB Needham Chicago after a review involving several local shops.
Van Kampen, based in Oakbrook Terrace, Ill., was left without an agency after FCB late last year took on advertising for the Kemper Mutual Funds offered by Zurich Kemper Investments, Chicago. FCB’s defection followed the purchase of Van Kampen by Morgan Stanley, Dean Witter, Discover & Co.
Van Kampen offers 88 mutual funds, including Morgan Stanley retail funds.
