Utah Selects Richter7 to Attract Businesses

LOS ANGELES Utah’s division of business and economic development has chosen Richter7 to handle its advertising and public relations account, according to the client and agency.

The independent shop in Salt Lake City won the business following a review. The account was last handled by Euro RSCG Tatham Partners’ Salt Lake City office, which closed in December 2003. The other contenders could not immediately be determined.

Billings are approximately $500,000, the agency said.

Richter7 is charged with creating a national and international campaign focusing on the benefits of bringing businesses to Utah. The campaign will include public relations, direct mail and print advertising targeted to decision makers and consultants.

“It’s an interesting challenge to sell the state of Utah,” said Bill Green, an account supervisor at the 50-person shop. “There’s a lot of opportunity to generate awareness about the benefits of doing business here. It’s a mix of great lifestyle and a great economic and business situation.”

Richter7’s client roster also includes Zion’s First National Bank, Meade Instruments, the Worker’s Compensation Fund of Utah and the Jackson Hole Ski Resort.
