Unilever to Sponsor Video Podcast Series

NEW YORK Unilever has signed on as presenting sponsor for a new venture at Marie Claire, the magazine’s first video podcast series.

Hosted by editor-in-chief Joanna Coles and featuring the magazine’s editorial staff, the series, called The Masthead With Marie Claire, launches Jan. 2.

Five-minute bimonthly episodes will offer up “an inside look” at the making of the magazine, with scenes from a real day in the life of magazine editors, beauty and fashion shoots, celebrity interviews, beauty talk and more. Episodes will be promoted and available to download on iTunes, marieclaire.com, msn.com and podshow.com.

“With the fast-paced growth of emerging media, it was our goal to partner with magazines to more fully integrate our brands in those media in a more organic way,” said Irene Grieco, a Unilever representative, in a statement.

Susan Plagemann, the magazine’s vp, publisher, added: “Delivering organic footage on what goes on at the magazine to a person’s iPod enables us to use creative product integration and puts us ahead of the curve in reaching our audience at all times.”
