UM’s Dudgeon Rises to COO

NEW YORK Murray Dudgeon, evp and worldwide operations director at Universal McCann Worldwide, has been promoted to chief operating officer and will be based in London.

Dudgeon, 48, who began his career at Universal McCann in London in 1979, has been based in New York. He had moved from London to New York in 1998 to help manage UM’s global launch and rollout into more than 100 markets worldwide, a representative said.

In his new post, Dudgeon will also remain at the helm of several global UM accounts, including The Coca-Cola Co. and Johnson & Johnson, in addition to providing senior-level support to other accounts, such as ExxonMobil and Brown-Forman. Dudgeon is also a member and co-founder of the Universal McCann Worldwide board and member of Interpublic Group’s Magna Global executive board.
