UM has struck a sweet deal. On Monday, the Mediabrands agency announced that it won the Ghirardelli Chocolate Company’s digital media business.
The account will be handled by UM’s San Francisco office, with Matt Nessier, senior vice president of emerging media, spearheading the effort.
This geography seems fitting. The original shop for the country’s longest continuously operating chocolate manufacturer is located in San Francisco’s Ghirardelli Square.
A sugary client is nothing new for UM, which also represents Coca-Cola. “We were very impressed with the strategy and insights presented by UM,” said Mona Maher, vice president of marketing for Ghirardelli, in a statement. “As we continue to grow and invest in our premium brand, we see UM as the perfect partner to help us achieve our goals.”
