Tuerff-Davis EnviroMedia topped three other finalists to win the Texas Department of Transportation’s anti-litter advertising account.
The two-year contract is worth an estimated $1.5 million annually. The incumbent, GSD&M of Austin, Texas, opted not to defend. The other finalists were JWT Specialized Communications of Dallas, Fo-garty Klein & Partners in Houston, plus Austin’s T3 and Sherry Matthews Advertising.
“Chalk one up for the underdog,” said Valerie Davis, vice president of the six-person Austin shop. “We positioned ourselves against the competition with a ‘Don’t mess with EnviroMedia’ strategy based on our environmental expertise, teamwork and creativity.”
Davis said her shop will keep the “Don’t mess with Tex-as” tagline of GSD&M.
