TriStar Taps Buntin

TriStar Health Systems, the largest family of hospitals and medical care services across middle Tennessee and southern Kentucky, has chosen The Buntin Group as its new agency of record.

“We were looking for a strategic partner to help us build consumer awareness of TriStar as a market leader,” said Cheryl Chubbs, client vice president of marketing and public relations. “We chose Buntin because of its full range of services, extensive healthcare experience and their consumer fluency approach to solving our creative needs.”

The Nashville, Tenn., agency topped the incumbent, Image3, also of Nashville, and five other local and out-of-state contenders for the business, according to sources familiar with the review.

“We presented before a roomful of folks,” said Jeffrey Buntin, agency president and chief executive officer. “Administrators, marketing people, there was a lot of staff participating.”

TriStar has charged Buntin with developing and executing marketing and communications strategies for each of its 13 individual healthcare facilities in Tennessee and Kentucky.

Buntin said his agency had already been working on a project assignment for the client. He expected the new campaign “to break before the end of the year and be broadcast heavy.

“TriStar is a significant part of the mid-South. We look forward to partnering with them to communicate their extensive services and make the hospitals meaningful to the communities they serve.”

Billings were not disclosed, but a source said the account was worth $6-8 million annually.
