Trio Media Has Its GutterGuard Up

ATLANTA Trio Media Group launched a television ad campaign this week for GutterGuard, the shop said.

The 30-second spot began airing this week in Atlanta and will play next week in Philadelphia, Baltimore, Charlotte, N.C., Greenville, S.C., Nashville and Chattanooga, Tenn., and Columbus, Ga. The campaign includes print ads that are scheduled to appear next week in newspapers and magazines in those markets.

The TV ad features a miniaturized company spokesman who enters the guttering on a house to demonstrate the difference between clogged gutters and the perpetually clean versions manufactured by the client.

It’s the first work from the independent Atlanta shop since winning the Dixie Homecrafters account following a review last month. Atlanta-based Dixie Homecrafters markets the GutterGuard brand along with several other home products. Trio also represents the company’s thermal siding, windows and a product that converts the area under a deck into useable space.

Trio is providing all creative work and media duties on the account. Previously, WaveGuide Studios in Atlanta created the company’s advertising. Ogilvy & Mather provided broadcast media buying, and the client performed print media buying internally.

Ron Slotin and Denise Elsbree opened Trio in April 2004. Slotin is a former Georgia state senator and Elsbree is co-founder of a wireless Internet software developer for the hospitality industry. The shop has eight employees and expects annual billings this year to reach $12 million, Elsbree said.

The shop’s other clients include Buckhead Community Bank, Low Country Barbeque, Aviation Advantage and James magazine. All are based in Atlanta.

Spending on the GutterGuard campaign was not disclosed.
