TORCH Program’s Annual Benefit and Awards

The TORCH Program on Nov. 9 is holding its annual benefit and LIGHT Awards ceremony at the Marquee at 289 10th Avenue in New York from 6-10 p.m.

The awards honor excellence in Leadership, Inspiration, Guidance, Heart and Teaching (LIGHT). This year’s honorees are ad shop Euro RSCG; educator Ed Grassel; TV personalities Al Roker and Deborah Roberts; and Torch alum Jennifer Vasquez.

The organization presents the awards to acknowledge organizations and individuals who have helped make a difference in the lives of underserved NYC public high school students and the community at large.

Individual event tickets are available for $150; reserved seating begins at $500 for two seats; tables of 10 are available for $5,000.

Along with the awards ceremony, there will be complimentary beer and wine, hors d’oeurves, a DJ and dancing and a gallery of student work.

TORCH is dedicated to transforming the lives of students by providing career training and opportunities in communications and the arts, all with an eye towards increasing diversity in the workforce of those industries.
