Charles Hall, creative director at SpikeDDB, has resigned from the agency. No decisions have been made on whether his spot will be filled, an agency representative said.
Hall joined director Spike Lee’s fledgling shop in November 1997, and promised to shift its focus to more general advertising. In the past year, however, the $18-20 million shop–which counts Soft Sheen, the Miami Heat and Fox Sports as clients–has struggled to land new business. Near misses with Chic Jeans, which awarded and then pulled its account, and fruitless courtships with Candie’s and InStyle have been frustrating, sources said.
