Have Americans become overly reliant on electronics? In a Rasmussen Reports survey, many respondents expressed worry that this is the case.
Asked how concerned they are “that Americans have become too dependent on computers, calculators and other electronic devices,” 41 percent said they’re “very” concerned about this, with another 29 percent “somewhat concerned.” Twenty-four percent said they’re “not very concerned” and 4 percent “not at all concerned” about this, with the rest unsure.
The numbers shifted significantly when people were queried about their own behavior. Just 26 percent said they “spend too much time using the Internet, computers and mobile communications devices.” Sixty-nine percent said they don’t, with the rest unsure.
