TMC Showcases Cricket’s Holiday Spirit

ATLANTA The Marketing Consortium said it recently launched its first media and public relations campaign for Cricket Communications.

The Charlotte, N.C., shop developed media and community relations programs to help build awareness of the telecom’s holiday promotions. Charlotte-based Cricket provides local wireless communication services, as well as alternatives to traditional landline telephony, according to TMC.

Brad Carmony, public relations account executive at TMC, said Charlotte is a test market for Cricket’s new products and services. If the company’s 5495 plan, which offers unlimited long-distance calling is successful, there will be a national rollout, he said.

TMC has coordinated sponsorships of community events such as tree lightings and has assisted Cricket with placements in holiday gift guides. Carmony said that instead of spending Cricket’s advertising budget on a television campaign, the company’s area general manager, Todd Elliott, donated the money to local charities.

“Elliott expressed a sincere interest in helping the Charlotte community,” Carmony said. “It is great to see a client take his budget and give it to nonprofit organizations.”

TMC said that it acquired the account following a review against undisclosed agencies. Campaign spending was not disclosed.
