GREEN BAY, WIS. – J. Walter Thompson/Chicago excused itself from the $8-million ShopKo review due to a potential conflict with Payless Drug Stores, a client in Thompson’s Detroit office. The review is down to incumbent McDonald Davis & Associates/Milwaukee; Bayer Bess Vanderwarker and Bozell, both Chicago; CME-KHBB/Minneapolis; and W.B. Doner/Southfield, Mich. A decision is due in August.
