An AI bot helped voters connect with political candidates

AKQA selects five projects for its Future Lions competition

CANNES, France—An AI bot for CNN that helps voters speak to and learn more about candidates running for office. A version of Google assistant that is targeted at kids to help them learn about the world around them. These are just a few of the winning ideas chosen by AQKA for the agency’s annual Future Lions competition.

For the 12th year of the competition, students were asked to “go beyond what’s expected to create the future.” Google partnered with AKQA for the fourth year in a row to keep the competition running.

“This year’s winners showcased innovation and curiosity, beginning a career that holds no boundaries. All their ideas demonstrate the desire for brands to make a meaningful impact to our future,” Sam Kelly, AKQA managing director, said.

Berghs School of Communication received the honor of Future Lions School of the Year for having the highest number of finalists on the 2017 shortlist.
