Tenn. Lottery Expects Quick Decision

ATLANTA Representatives from the Tennessee Education Lottery Corp. expect to choose a winner from among seven proposals received last week, the client said.

Five agencies and two joint partnerships are vying for the state’s first lottery account, valued at $18 million.

The contenders are: Gish Sherwood & Friends and Stagepost Creative Marketing & Communications, both Nashville, Tenn.; the Thomas Media Group, Chattanooga, Tenn.; Carol H. Williams Advertising, Oakland, Calif.; and DiamondJaxx, Jackson, Tenn. In addition, Strategic Marketing Alliance, a partnership between O’Neil Griffin Bodi, Manchester, N.H., and Mercatus Communications and Webster & Associates, both Nashville; and Archer Malmo Tombras, a partnership between independent archer>malmo, Memphis, Tenn., and The Tombas Group, Knoxville, Tenn., are in contention.

A decision is expected Dec. 22. Lottery officials said they expect to make a cut to four semifinalists and hear oral presentations before Monday.

The winning agency is expected to produce a campaign in time for the lottery’s Feb. 10 kickoff. Online games begin April 10.
