BOSTON The Massachusetts Teachers Association has launched a broadcast salvo slamming educational budget cuts. The ads are from SS+K in New York.

One 30-second TV spot, “Negotiations,” shows kids negotiating about what to do next: increase class size, charge for bus service or close the school library. Similarly themed radio ads have also been produced. The effort will run statewide though June in an effort to influence the ongoing legislative budget debate.

The MTA, which represents nearly 100,000 teachers, hired independent shop SS+K last month; the agency handles the business from its office in Boston.
