NEW YORK TBWA said it has finally filled its top creative slot in London with Mark Hunter, executive creative director at the crosstown office of Euro RSCG.
Hunter (pictured) has accepted an offer to become ecd of TBWA\London. The position has been vacant since July, when then ecd Steve Henry left after just 14 months in the role.
Hunter is tasked with returning the shop to the creative prominence it enjoyed under previous chairman and cd Trevor Beattie. Beattie exited in 2005 to launch his own agency.
“Mark is the brightest and the best. We’re delighted to have signed him,” said Tim Lindsay, president of TBWA’s operations in the U.K and Ireland.
Before Euro RSCG, Hunter was a cd at the Amsterdam office of Wieden + Kennedy, where he worked on Nike. Earlier in his career, he worked on brands such as Lynx, Audi, Johnnie Walker and Levi’s at Bartle Bogle Hegarty in London.
Hunter described TBWA as “one of advertising’s truly great brands,” adding that he was “delighted” to get a chance to “help shape the future of this office.”
