TBWA Advances McNeel

NEW YORK Omnicom Group’s TBWA Worldwide said it has named John McNeel president, global clients. He had been managing director of the network’s Nissan business and president of TBWA\Hakuhodo International in Tokyo since 2005.

In his new capacity, McNeel, 53, will report to Tom Carroll, president and CEO of TBWA Worldwide, and will join the network’s executive committee. He continues to maintain responsibility for the leadership of TBWA’s global relationship with Nissan, adding additional responsibilities for promoting and implementing best practices across the network’s global accounts.

“John is a motivated and experienced leader who has been associated with some of the best brands in the world.  He has contributed tremendously to the network and his understanding and ability to build global brands will continue to make him an indispensable part of our team,” said Carroll in a statement.

Added McNeel: “With our proprietary tools and under Tom’s leadership, TBWA is uniquely positioned to help our global clients capture a larger share of the future, and I’m thrilled to be able to contribute to writing this next chapter.”
 
McNeel joined TBWA in 2002 as managing director on the network’s Mars business and helped lead the development of the global Pedigree campaign. He had previously served at Publicis Groupe’s Saatchi & Saatchi as evp, director of operations on Procter & Gamble.
