Taubman Centers Retains Colle + McVoy

CHICAGO Shopping mall management company Taubman Centers has hired MDC Partners’ Colle + McVoy as lead agency to handle marketing for 10 of its retail centers around the country, according to the agency.

The Minneapolis shop won the business after a review of undisclosed contenders. Work will include strategic planning, advertising and direct marketing for several seasonal promotions in 2006, including spring, back-to-school and holiday campaigns. Billings were estimated at $3 million.

“This is an exciting win for us,” said agency CEO John Jarvis in a statement. “As consumers are getting bombarded with retail advertising, Taubman gives us a huge opportunity to create original work that breaks out from the clutter, particularly during the busiest shopping seasons of the year.”

Advertising and marketing duties had previously been managed by local agencies, according to a Colle + McVoy representative.

Taubman, based in Bloomfield Hills, Mich., owns and manages 23 shopping centers in 11 states.
