CHICAGO–Growth has led the Leap Partnership here to name its first managing director, a break from the 3-year-old agency’s founding pledge of a flat management style that stressed teamwork over titles.





As managing director at Leap, Erin Clark, formerly a senior partner in account management at Euro RSCG Tatham and J. Walter Thompson in Chicago, will oversee client teams and work directly with clients. The added management title became necessary as Leap in the last year added an office in Los Angeles and grew from 28 employees to a staff of 135, Leap officials said.





Clark said her tenure at large agencies, in systems antithetical to Leap’s advertised mission, will help her keep the agency true to its flat, team-oriented structure.





‘With that experience (at Tatham and JWT), I think I bring a little bit of order to the concept,’ Clark said.
