Target Marketing & Promotions has been acquired by Alloy, a New York-based media and marketing company.

As part of the deal, Target will join forces with Alloy subsidiary Triple Dot Communications to create and execute marketing strategies.

Target and Triple Dot, both in Boston, will remain in their respective offices for now and are combining to share clients and pitch new business.

“Because the two agencies are similar in culture and marketing approaches, we can share a lot with each other,” said Gary Colen, president of Triple Dot.

Both Target and Alloy are independent shops.
