BOSTON Members of the Screen Actors Guild and the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists on Tuesday voted by a 94 percent margin to ratify new three-year commercial contracts negotiated with advertising trade groups, the unions said. Approval had been expected.

Initial agreement was struck on Sept. 24 between the unions and the joint policy committee on talent relations of the Association of National Advertisers and the American Association of Advertising Agencies.

Of the nearly 129,000 ballots mailed to SAG and AFTRA members, about 27 percent (34,415) were returned.
