TAKING IT TO THE STREET

To honor their role in mounting this year’s Republican National Convention, Philadelphians had only to step outside on Sept. 19-20.

That’s when six massive mobile billboards took to the streets of Philadelphia, proclaiming, “Honk if you did a great job during the RNC. You deserve to toot your own horn.”

The fleet of billboards was commissioned by the Greater Philadelphia Marketing Corp. to thank the city’s people and businesses for helping to make the RNC a success.

The effort was created by out-of-home ad agency Do It Outdoors in York, Pa., and MayoSeitz Media in Blue Bell, Pa.

“We wanted a short-term, highly creative, noticeable [out-of–home] method,” said Ray Mayo, MayoSeitz’s managing director.

How did residents of the City of Brotherly Love respond to these moving messages?

They honked, of course.
