KPC Christopher Thomas has picked up assignments from Mr. Tux and Second Step.

Newton, Mass.-based Second Step provides transitional housing, job training and related programs for battered women. Its purpose is to help women in abusive relationships start new lives.

The Boston agency will craft a new logo, tagline and collateral and fundraising materials on a pro-bono basis for the 10-year-old client. The work is expected to break early next year.

“We need to communicate that [Second Step] has been very successful in achieving results,” said Leo Rice, president of KPC Christopher Thomas.
