NEW YORK Tacoda Systems, a company that provides behavioral targeting services to publishers like iVillage and Gannett’s USAToday.com, has raised $7 million in its first round of institutional financing.

The Series B investment was led by Masthead Venture Partners and joined by a number of the company’s existing seed and angel investors, including Hansiatic Americas and Fred Wilson, founding partner of Union Square Ventures and formerly of Flatiron Ventures.

In total, the 3-year-old, New York-based company has raised just over $10 million, with 20 angel investors financing early stage investments.
