Szczepanski Put in Charge of MediaVest L.A.

LOS ANGELES Tom Szczepanski has been named senior vice president, managing director of MediaVest here, the company said.

Szczepanski succeeds Ron Vazzano, who left the Publicis Groupe media services company after 19 years to pursue other interests, said a MediaVest representative. Szczepanski starts on Aug. 25 and will report to Renee Milliaressis, president of strategy for MediaVest in New York.

Szczepanski was previously general manager of Universal McCann in Los Angeles, where he spent five years. Prior to that, he was media planning director at Messner Vetere Berger McNamee Schmetterer Euro RSCG and associate media director at Chiat/Day.

In his new position, Szczepanski will have direct managerial responsibilities for MediaVest’s Los Angeles office, which has more than 20 employees and works with clients such as Activision, DirecTV and NBC. He will oversee all aspects of the operation, including client relations, product quality strategic research initiatives, and planning and buying services.
