Syndicated television shows, especially those with early fringe and access time periods, suffered sun damage as daylight-saving time impacted HUT (households using television) levels and ratings for the week ending April 8, according to Nielsen Media Research data published Monday.

Later sunsets traditionally cause a drop in viewing levels for evening time shows. Not even the top-rated game shows “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!” could evade the inevitable seasonal downturn. “Wheel” (9.9) was down 8% week-to-week, while “Jeopardy!” (8.3)
