Surgery Ads Are Most Uplifting






Southern California may very well be the plastic surgery capital of the world. The competition for customers, therefore, is probably the fiercest.





To reach prospective consumers in need a nip, tuck or enhancement, Orange County, Calif.-based CosmetiCare, a multi-office plastic surgery center, has unveiled a direct response campaign that gets straight to the heart of the matter.





Scottsdale, Ariz.-based Alpern Ad-Hoc has created ads (one is shown here) that feature images of men with rippling muscles and women with shapely thighs and bountiful breasts. A TV spot began running last week in Southern California telling viewers that ‘it’s time to look your best’ and ‘it’s time to lift your spirits,’ and offering a toll-free number for more information.





A set of provocative billboards went up a couple of weeks ago around Southern California.





Alpern’s president, Barbara Lehman, said the campaign is directed at ordinary folks, hence the tagline: ‘Plastic surgery for real people.’
