The STAR Group, an independent marketing agency in Cherry Hill, N.J., has hired Tom Conti as president of STAR Advertising. Conti joins STAR from Gillespie/McCann-Erickson WorldGroup in Princeton, N.J., where he was senior managing partner. Prior to Gillespie, he held top management positions at Earle Palmer Brown and Ketchum Communications in Philadelphia. Conti has worked with clients such as DuPont, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, Kennedy Health System and Conectiv. Conti also is active in the academic community.
