Stanley Steemer Down to Finalists in Creative Review

Spent $40 million in 2012 media

Stanley Steemer is down to a couple of undisclosed finalists in a creative agency review.

The last agency known to work with the cleaning services company was Ron Foth Advertising, Columbus, Ohio, which parted ways with the marketer last year. Previously, Young & Laramore, Indianapolis, worked with Stanley Steemer on two different occasions. Y&L first handled it from 2003 to 2005 and then in February 2010, Stanley Steemer returned its national advertising assignment to the agency. (Y&L stopped working with Stanley Steemer in 2011 and declined to participate in the latest agency search.) In the interim between those stints, the account went to The Loomis Agency, Dallas.

In 2012, the Dublin, Ohio-based marketer spent around $40 million in measured media, according to Nielsen.

The current search follows a public relations review last year that had Stanley Steemer naming Coyne PR of Parsippany, N.J., as its first PR agency. Aside from Coyne, the other firms competing for the PR and social media business were Young & Laramore, SBC Advertising and MSLGroup.

Brian King, the vp, marketing of Stanley Steemer who joined in 2011, exited the company earlier this year and has not been replaced in that role, sources said.
