St. Pete/Clearwater Back in YPB&R Portfolio

ATLANTA Three years after losing the St. Petersburg/Clearwater Area Convention and Visitors Bureau account, Yesawich, Pepperdine, Brown & Russell reclaimed the business in a review last week.

The Orlando, Fla., shop was one of three agencies competing for the $4.4 million account. Cramer-Kresselt of Chicago and Smith Advertising of Fayetteville, N.C., also pitched the business.

The Pinellas County Commission will vote on the contract Oct. 5, a procedure YPB&R expects to be a formality, to finalize the deal.

The first ads for the campaign will launch after the first of the year. The agency will be paid a fee of $600,000 for the account.

YPB&R held the account for eight years before losing it to FKQ Advertising of Clearwater, Fla., in 2001. FKQ did not defend the account in the latest review.

YPB&R also produces tourism advertising for Panama City Beach, Fla.
