St. John Adds Doner Vet to Creative Ranks

ATLANTA Don Fibich, former svp and creative director at Doner, has joined St. John & Partners as evp and creative director, the agency said.

Fibich, 47, was at Doner two different times for a total of nine years until a few weeks before joining Jacksonville, Fla.-based St. John. Most recently, he worked primarily on Doner’s Blockbuster account and was the creative director for the agency’s “Carl & Ray” commercials that depicted a guinea pig and rabbit discussing new video releases from their vantage point in the window of a pet shop across the street from a Blockbuster store. He also worked at Doner from 1991 to 1994 as vp and group director.

“Don is a great thinker and develops advertising that breaks through the clutter and can make a positive difference for our clients,” said Dan St. John, chairman and chief executive of the agency.

Fibich replaces Bruce Broden, who was president and chief creative director until he left the agency last year. The shop said it does not plan to name another president immediately.

Fibich, creative director on the most recent series of television ads for St. John’s Southern Quality Ford Dealers account, is supervising final production of a new TV and radio campaign for Zaxby’s restaurants.

His other experience includes serving as vice president and associate creative director at Campbell-Ewald in Warren, Mich., and senior partner and creative director at Bozell in Southfield, Mich.
