SRI Unit in Tech Search

Consulting firm Select Resources International’s interactive division, Select New Media, has been retained to conduct an agency search for software developer Mintaka Technology Group.
Los Angeles-based Mintaka is currently readying for a software launch geared at programmers, said Paran Johar, managing partner of Select New Media. Billings for the launch are under $1 million, but are expected to greatly increase in the coming year, Johar said.
Interested interactive agencies would preferably have software and e-commerce experience, according to Johar, in addition to the desire to take “a grassroots approach” to marketing the software.
“As a software developer and startup company, Mintaka has very specialized marketing needs,” said Johar. “[We] will help them sort through the array of interactive agencies and find a strategic partner who will take them to the next level.”
Requests for proposals will go out shortly to selected shops, Paran said. Interested parties should contact Select New Media in Los Angeles.
Mintaka Technology Group has developed the OptiCode series of software programming utilities, which assists with the software implementation process.
Separately, Select Resources International has been tapped by Yellow Freight System, Overland Park, Kan., to conduct an agency search for its estimated $15 million account. Incumbent NKH&W Kansas City, Mo., will not participate.
