LOS ANGELES L.L. Bean has placed creative chores on its ad account into review, a company representative confirmed.

Consulting firm Select Resources International, Santa Monica, Calif., will help conduct the search for the Maine-based retailer, sources said.

Media duties are not in play. The incumbent on that portion of the business is WPP Group’s MediaEdge:cia.

L.L. Bean said it currently uses several different agencies for creative.

In 2000 the company engaged Omnicom Group’s Martin/Williams in Minneapolis to craft campaigns, but split with the agency in 2005, using Pile and Co.
