South Shut Out Of Lowe’s Picks

Officials with Lowe’s Cos. in North Wilkesboro, N.C., have named six agencies as finalists for the retailer’s $100 million account.
They are: incumbent Doner in Southfield, Mich.; Leo Burnett of Chicago; TBWA/Chiat/Day in Los Angeles; J. Walter Thompson’s Detroit office; and D’Arcy Masius Benton & Bowles and McCann-Erickson, both of New York.
According to a statement from the home improvement chain, no other shops will be added to the review.
Each of the finalists will receive $20,000 to complete a creative assignment. The company did not reveal a decision date.
Lowe’s has been at Doner for the last nine years. Though the client has referred to the association as “long and successful,” officials wanted to assess other shops.–Jim Osterma
