A garden gnome comes to life and embarks on a quest for a beautiful woman in a new spot for Kraft Foods’ Hollywood Gum, a brand sold in France.
The 45-second spot (shown here) is the first from feature director Tim Burton, best known for his offbeat direction of movies such as Batman, A Nightmare Before Christmas, Beetlejuice and Edward Scissorhands.
Produced for Euro RSCG BETC in Paris by A Band Apart Commercials in Hollywood, Calif., and Hamster Publicitƒ in France, the spot shows the gnome casting his wheelbarrow aside as night falls.
He scampers over a wall (with the aid of a garden hose), fights off a house cat, runs through a crowded movie theater and hitches a ride to the country in back of a garbage truck.
The gnome then spies a young woman bathing under a waterfall and dives over a pack of Hollywood to join her.
