Omnicom’s TBWA\Chiat\Day has hired Walter Smith as account director on Infiniti, the agency said. Smith, 45, had been with Publicis & Hal Riney in San Francisco for the last 14 years. He was group account director on Saturn there before it shifted to Goodby, Silverstein & Partners last year. Smith worked at TBWA\C\D from 1987-89. He replaces Russell Wager, who left the Playa del Rey, Calif., agency two months ago for Doner in Newport Beach, Calif.
