Silverman Departs Saatchi, Favors TBS’ Media Challenge

Paul Louis Silverman recently joined TBS Media Management’s office here as vice president and general manager. He replaces Nadia Pidhajecky, who left to pursue other interests.
Previously, Silverman was associate director of media at Saatchi & Saatchi Pacific in Torrance, Calif. He said he had decided to leave Saatchi for TBS in order to become “part of a company that is highly specialized, dedicated and wholly focused on media management versus a larger full-service agency that is creatively focused but with an unbundled media function that only mimics the real thing.”
Frank Muratore, president and chief executive officer of TBS, said Silverman “brings the right combination of experience that blends well with our plans for the Los Angeles office.” Muratore said he expects Silverman to bring fresh ideas to the media planning and buying company.
During his six years at Saatchi, Silverman oversaw the media department. He worked on key accounts, such as Toyota Motor Sales, Sumitomo Bank of California, Qantas Airlines, Pavilions Supermarkets, Yamaha Motorsports, Crystal Cruises and Savoy Pictures. He has also held positions at other Los Angeles agencies, including McCann-Erickson and Dailey & Associates.
Silverman helped implement the campaign for Toyota’s Motorsports division. The campaign won him Saatchi’s “Creative Media Plan of the Year” award. He also helped the agency win the Savoy Pictures and MGM/UA movie accounts.
