The Show Goes On

The call for acts for this year’s Chicago Ad Federation Ad Show asks, “Do you have talent?” It might as well have have led with the old showbiz saw, “Come one, come all.”
The CAF is looking for singers, musicians, comics and actors with ad industry day jobs for the May 13 event, which will again be staged at the Park West in Chicago.
Last year’s inaugural show featured skits lampooning focus groups, long hours on the job and sleazy agency tactics, including a rousing celebration of the weather phenomenon El Ni„o sung to the tune of “Tomorrow” from Annie.
Those with a yen for greasepaint are asked to come to the audition with a one-minute comedy or drama bit. Improvisational skills may also be needed.
Auditions for this year’s show will be held Feb. 15 and 16 at The Annoyance Theater in Chicago. Call Heather Henning at (312) 220-5862 for information.
