Shops Prepare for Six Flags

DALLAS Requests for propsals issued by Six Flags to 12 agencies are due back on Wednesday, according to sources. The client is reviewing its $90 million global creative and media account.

Among the agencies that have received the document are incumbent independent Ackerman McQueen in Oklahoma City; WPP Group’s J. Walter Thompson in New York; Grey Global Group’s Grey in New York; Omnicom’s GSD&M in Austin, Texas; Publicis Groupe’s Fallon in Minneapolis; Interpublic Group’s Campbell-Ewald in Warren, Mich., and siblings The Martin Agency in Richmond, Va., Hill, Holliday, Connors, Cosmopulos, in Boston, and Temerlin McClain in Irving, Texas, sources said. Three undisclosed shops also received the questionnaire.

Some agencies, however, are not expected to return the document, sources said.

Ackerman McQueen handles creative chores for the Oklahoma City-based amusement park company and subcontracts media duties to IPG’s Initiative Media, New York.

Roth Associates of New York is overseeing the review. Roth did not return calls. Agency executives either declined comment or could not be reached.
