CHICAGO – Sears, Roebuck & Co., as expected, consolidated its six separate divisions into three last week. Robert Mettler, former president and ceo of Robinson’s Department Stores was elected president of the new Apparel Group, which is currently in review. Marvin Stern, vp/home improvement, was named president of a new Home Group. A new president of the Automotive Group will be named later.
